Colorado River Fire Rescue has adopted a Declaration of a Local Emergency Disaster for the COVID 19 outbreak. Fire Chief Randy Callahan signed the declaration on March 19th and the CRFR Board of Directors voted to continue it during a March 24th special board of directors meeting. The declaration will remain in place for the duration of the COVID 19 outbreak.
This emergency disaster declaration allows for CRFR to respond to the COVID 19 outbreak in a proactive manner. It provides the fire chief with increased authority to activate appropriate COVID 19 response preparedness and protocols. It also enables CRFR to receive associated state and federal resources and/or funding for this outbreak.
COVID 19 is large-scale, complex, and inter-agency event. CRFR is responding to this large scale event with a preparedness, response, and communication mindset. Throughout the organization, CRFR folks at all levels are providing innovative assistance, adapting to new behaviors, and demonstrating the resourcefulness of an agile workforce.
